Ashtanga Basics

Ashtanga is classical form of power yoga and is one of the most prominent forms of traditional yoga. Ashtanga focuses on power and strength along with stamina and flexibility in movement, to create an energising and detoxifying practice. Ashtanga is physically demanding. BootyBarre

Hatha Yoga 

Hatha practices long hold asanas with all kinds of varying poses, pranayama exercises, meditation and mindful relaxation. a good introduction to a variety of poses, along with breathing exercises and gentle movements. Hatha is good way to truly find space in your mind and body, to relax and meditate. Hatha is a great way to start your day in the morning and wind down in the evening, with a clear mind and balanced body.

Meditation offers students from all levels a chance to learn a variety of meditation techniques to consciously relax and balance the mind and body.

Pilates-Mat

Pilates focuses on building core physical strength, posture and awareness of the body. The Pilates method is based on 6 key principles: Centering, Control, Flow, Breath, Precision, and Concentration. A typical session will include exercises to build strength, stamina, stability and flexibility with special attention on building deeper postural “core” muscles, helping protect the spine against injury. Pilates also supports the internal organs and fosters pelvic and spinal awareness to promote good posture. Equipment such as blocks, resistance bands (to replicate resistance training of the Pilates machines), weights, fit balls and foam rollers may be utilised to further enhance strength and balance.

Power Yoga 

Power Yoga is a fitness based approach  which helps tone muscles and build stamina. Power yoga offers dynamic flows and static holds creating high levels of energy which are aimed at raising the heart rate, challenging the student to find balance, creativity and technique. Power yoga is a fun way to workout, have fun, build strength and flexibility.

Postnatal Yoga

Postnatal Yoga offer a great way to get back into shape while also becoming part of yoga community of new parents. Postnatal Yoga will help you strengthen your back, abdominal and pelvic floor muscles. Postnatal yoga also releases tension in shoulders and neck muscles, helping to improve posture. Postnatal Yoga will reduce your overall stress levels and give your mind and body the energy it needs.

Prenatal Yoga

Prenatal Yoga is a multi-faceted approach to exercise that encourages stretching, mental centering, and focused breathing.  Prenatal Yoga will help prepare you for labor and promote your baby’s health. 

Restorative Yoga

Restorative yoga is a deeply relaxing way of practicing yoga.   Plan on letting go of the stresses of everyday life.  Restorative yoga seeks  to achieve physical, mental and emotional relaxation with the aid of props.  Given props, the student achieves poses without much muscular strength, facilitating deep release in the connective tissue and calming the nervous system. Teachers may offer a meditative focus to relax the mind.   Provides healing for the body and the mind.

Vinyasa Flow (II-III)

Vinyasa is characterised by continuous motion movements and flowing poses and varying sequences which are linked to breathing. Vinyasa offers a diverse, flexible and athletic approach to yoga. Vinyasa is often referred to as Flow due to the smooth transition between poses, making it dance-like. If you like movement and varying poses, then you will enjoy Vinyasa. 

 

Yogalates

Yogalates is a comprehensive system of exercise combining the eastern practice of Yoga and the western practice of Pilates. Yoga can enhance strength, stamina, flexibility, balance and mental clarity. Pilates focuses on building core physical strength, posture and awareness of the body. The Pilates method is based on 6 key principles: Centering, Control, Flow, Breath, Precision, and Concentration. A typical session will include exercises and poses (asana) to cultivate strength, stamina, stability and flexibility with special attention on building tone in the deeper postural “core” muscles, helping protect the spine against injury. Yogalates also supports  internal organs and fosters pelvic and spinal awareness to promote good posture. Equipment such as blocks, resistance bands, weights, fit balls and foam rollers may be utilised to further enhance strength and balance. In Yogalates the eight limbs of yoga are implemented making it a holistic approach which aims to bring about balance and unity in body, mind and spirit.

Yogalates is suitable for all ages and is a good method for those with back pain, arthritis, and osteoporosis and is particularly beneficial for post natal women. Yogalates builds general tone and fitness, a connection with the self relax the nervous system, release stress, help with relaxation and improve overall well-being.

Yin Yoga 

Yin offers a deep, calm, long meditative approach to Yoga. Yin seeks to create a physical, mental and emotional balance by focusing on deep connective tissues of the body (e.g. hips, sacrum, spine) to help regulate the flow of energy and release stress and tension throughout the entire body. Yin postures can significantly improve flexibility in the joints. Yin’s meditative nature, make it the perfect antidote to busy urban life.
